Sustainability in healthcare has been at the forefront of our minds for many years, with the UK leading the way globally in its mission to deliver net-zero healthcare by 2040. If healthcare were a country, it would be the fifth largest carbon emitter, generating two billion tons of CO2 (Health Care Without Harm, 2019). The stark increase in the cost of energy during 2021 is now a pressing issue for all of us; the immediate need to reduce energy consumption both at work and at home is driven by both environmental and financial considerations.
