Glaucoma, including primary open-angle glaucoma, is a leading cause of visual loss in the UK and around the world. Considered in the context of the optometrist’s role in glaucoma care, this article outlines the laser techniques used to treat the condition, together with the results of a new treatment study, the Laser in Glaucoma and Ocular Hypertension (LiGHT) trial.
