Abstract
Interest in including home monitoring in the management of eye conditions has increased in recent years, with patient-focused management, NHS capacity and recently the effect of COVID-19 on care provision driving forward research. This article reviews the research into digital technology innovation and home monitoring in the management of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and glaucoma, with a focus on the Monitoring for Neovascular Age-Related macular degeneration reactivation at home (MONARCH) study and studies investigating the feasibility of using the Eyecatcher visual fields (VF) home-monitoring programme for patients with glaucoma.
