Results and analysis of a randomised controlled trial of an alternative model of glaucoma care by optometrists.
Introduction
This paper describes how the evidence provided by a randomised controlled trial of an alternative model of glaucoma care by optometrists underpinned changes to local glaucoma care delivery involving HES optometrists in Bristol Eye Hospital, a large specialist eye hospital in the south-west of England. This will be set against the backdrop of the challenges of glaucoma care provision in the UK at the present time.
