Technology in eye care: Seeing the future

Description: The digital revolution has touched every element of our lives. There has been more technological advancement within the past 10 years than the 2000 years before. Why is technology so important to optometric practice? How has technology impacted on our patients and their expectations for eye care? This talk will investigate how technology makes an impact on the lives of our patients and their experience in practice and how new technology has revolutionised the eye care industry, yet it could be the single biggest threat. We will explore strategies when designing a plan and roadmap to implement new technology in practice.

Bhavin Shah MCOptom

Bhavin Shah (BSc Optom (Hons), MCOptom, MBCLA) is a multi-award-winning behavioural optometrist with over 25 years of experience in practice. He has a passion for linking eyecare with technology and using innovation to implement digital strategies. His practice won the prestigious Optician Award for Technology Practice of the Year 2020.

He was a cofounder in a tech start-up and has been involved in the London Medtech scene over the past 6 years as a creator and mentor. This has been instrumental in understanding the role of technology in patient care, growth of the business and providing outstanding care.
