OCT SEMINAR: A mix of moderate and complex cases (for new and experienced OCT users) 1

Description

This seminar presents a mix of moderate & complex patient cases using OCT images and multimodal imaging, to develop and enhance OCT interpretation skills. Optometrists will be able to build their confidence in the use of OCT to monitor patients in practice and understand it’s role in referrals and treatment.

Mike Horler BSc FCOptom DipTp(IP) Prof Cert Med Ret

Mike is a Consultant Optometrist in Medical Retina at Sussex Eye Hospital, Brighton and is also Medical Retina Module Co Lead in Moorfields post graduate education team. Previously, he has held posts at City University and University of Auckland, New Zealand, and has previously undertaken research in Glaucoma and visual fields.

Mike lived in New Zealand, where he gained an IP qualification in 2006, practicing in community and university.

Mike also worked in Brighton, where he was a Community Optometrist with Special Interest in AMD and has a wide range of experience in Optometry & sub specialty Ophthalmology.

He has delivered numerous CET-accredited lectures and workshops, at Optometry Tomorrow and Bitesize, College webinars, PAC and LOC study days.

Mike was awarded Fellowship of the College in 2021 and is also a College Assessor.
