NHS England pre-registration supervisor training grant

Pre-registration grant claims are processed by Primary care support England (PCSE) on behalf of NHS England. The allowance paid to supervisors is set out by the Department of Health on an annual basis and from 1 April 2023, the grant is £4,010. 

When should I apply for the pre-registration supervisor grant?

You can either claim the full value of the grant at the end of the pre-registration year or in two instalments (one after six months and the other at the end of the pre-registration year).

How do I apply?

Complete the pre-registration trainee supervisor grant form online by following the instructions on the PCSE website.

What happens after I send off my form?

  • PCSE will issue you with a case reference number on receipt of the claim form, which should be quoted in any future correspondence regarding the claim.
  • PCSE will verify the information you have provided on the form against the information the College holds.
  • If there is any discrepancy in the information you have submitted on your claim form, PCSE will contact you and check with the College if necessary.
  • Once the claim has been validated, PCSE will arrange payment with your next GOS payment
