The authors present a case report of a 74-year-old Caucasian woman with a palpable mass in the right lower eyelid which transpired to be a metastasis from undiagnosed breast cancer. The authors discuss the need for optometrists to be aware of orbital disease, including appropriate history taking, clinical examination techniques and the differential diagnosis of an orbital mass.
