Vice-Chair of Lincolnshire local optical committee (LOC)

Building strong relationships requires time and effort, but it is essential for collaboration, knowledge sharing and delivering comprehensive patient care. CPD events, preferably conducted in person, offer a platform for primary care and secondary care optometrists and ophthalmologists to come together. These events enhance professional knowledge but also provide opportunities to connect with others, engage in conversations, exchange contact information, and build lasting relations. Through my work with LOCs, I have had the privilege of meeting healthcare practitioners from various fields and contributing to the broader healthcare system. While it may seem intimidating, particularly in online meetings, I actively participate, engage and always promote primary care optometry.
