Introduction
The importance and benefits of rigid gas-permeable (GP) lenses for quality of vision (Jones-Jordan et al. 2010), ocular health (Walline et al. 2007) and a decreased rate of myopic progression (Walline et al. 2004) are well established. Not too long ago interest in this lens option was steadily declining. Increasing popularity and variety of disposable soft contact lenses were proposed to put an end to the era of GP lenses (Efron 2005).
