The communication options used by people with PMLD are often varied in appearance, personalised and situation-specific.

Introduction 

In our first article we discussed the communication needs of deaf people and how we might adapt our practice when working with them (Karas and Laud 2014). In this second article we will look at the communication needs of people who have a profound and multiple learning disability (PMLD).
