About the webinar

In this one-hour webinar, funded by Docet and managed by The College of Optometrists, optometrist and TFOS UK Ambassador Sarah Farrant will give an overview of the changing landscape of evidence and research reported in TFOS DEWS II and TFOS DEWS III. 

With the help of a patient case study, Sarah will discuss how the latest research affects what optometrists do in practise. 

Areas covered include the key differences between TFOS DEWS II and III, as well as the key elements and takeaways from the new report that are applicable in practice.

Question and answer session

At the end of the webinar, Sarah Farrant will answer some of the live questions raised during the talk.

You will be able to claim one interactive CPD point after attending this live session.

It was highly relevant to primary care optometric practice and particularly interesting as I have just started the Prof Cert Medical Retina. I practiced for many years without OCT, so it was interesting to hear comments on spotting these conditions without OCT, as that was how I worked for a very long time. Sarah Farrant BSc MCOptom DipTP(IP) Dip TP(AS) FBCLA Prof Cert Med Ret

Sarah is a Director at Earlam and Christopher Optometrists, an optometrist and Dry Eye Specialist and acts as a consultant and key opinion leader for several national and global companies. 

Sarah has a great passion for her work which is reflected in the wide variety of different interests she has within the profession. She has undertaken a number of additional qualifications and is a leading national expert in therapeutics and dry eye management and represents the UK as an Ambassador for TFOS. 

She is currently immediate past president for the BCLA and sat for 12 years on the executive and council boards for The College of Optometrists. She has been instrumental in a number of local and national initiatives in order to improve access to education amongst the profession and access to eye care for patients. She is also a keen lecturer and regularly lectures both nationally and internationally.

Terms and conditions

  • To attend this webinar you must be a GOC registered optometrist practising in England, Wales or Northern Ireland
  • To obtain your interactive CPD point you must ensure the following standards are met, you must:
    • have a minimum attendance of 50 minutes
    • complete a minimum of 4 of the 6 polls

Optometrists who are only practising in Scotland, students and pre-registration trainees are not eligible to attend this webinar.
